No, Wansworth is very genuine, and he uses the word gay in the original sense, meaning happy.

Which bits of sailing do you like the best.

I think it would be a nice steady broad reach on a passage, with no squalls about - nothing too hair raising. Had enough hair raising (and hair losing) episodes in the past.

Depends on the day. Sailing locally on a sunny day with good crew is slightly different from sailing hundreds of miles away overnight in fog or a F9 with inexperienced crew

Yes so some can evidently enjoy a 'Gay Day' afloat ; its really what Yaching is all about I recon ; enjoyment plus relaxation of a Cruise well done , amoungst the Natural World arround us ; a sort of Bliss on Water ; nothing better I recon {
