That sounds a bit Terry Pratchett to me, but I use the same principle on the lottery - if my numbers are truly random, and the draw is truly random, I should win every time!
So, since you are not astoundingly rich now (I assume?), it must be fixed?

Or, there is some little catch in your theory?

The logic is entirely sound, so it MUST be fixed!

On topic, I'm not really a "happy and gay" kind of person, but I always feel a weight lifted off my shoulders as the boat comes under way - I've done all the worrying I'm going to do beforehand, weighed and mitigated risks, made my preparations as best I can, and there's nothing else I can do about it.
I'm also very aware of the fact that I can't actually do anything about anything occurring more than about 20ft away, so it's pointless worrying about anything outside that perimeter - it may as well not exist.
Time on the water, for me, is time spent in the moment - respite from real life.

Something on another thread about lathes..
Time spent on the boat is not subtracted from your life span. Wish it was true!

As in, - if the odds are million to one against, then narrative theory says that you will win every time. ("Guards Guards" i believe?)
Got to be exactly million to one for it to work though.

I have done many projects with my friend Kevin the Industrial electrician. For those that don't know, wiring a 3 phase motor is a 50/50 chance of correct rotation. (Kevin is actually very skilled at his job but on a lot of existing plants the phase wiring between supply and point of use can be quite random.)
After a few projects i developed what i call Kevin's Law which states that if Kevin has a 50 :50 chance of getting it right first time he will get it wrong 9 times out of 10!
Some of you may relate to this, i just wish i knew how to monetise the effect!.
