The Standard Horizon HX890E model has problem with moisture either trapped inside during manufacturing or moisture penetration during usage. Could be a bad batch, however, they should be recalled for exchange rather than people having to return them or, like in my case I had to argue with a very well known marine chandler for an exchange.Correction to post #5

So far after 18months no fogging on my HX890E good little radio, I used an adapter to take the antenna socket to an SO239 so I could use the boat's antenna worked great too.Correction to post #5
