There is one on there now '70s VOX AC30 2X12 combo, ready to rock and it is at £360 with 1 hour to go, its in Southampton and about the right price for me if it goes sub £500 but these things often take off in the last hour

I have a Hammond RT3 (B3 in console) and seperate twin leslies, Hiwatt half stack and Yamaha DX7 and Roland JX3P plus Vox keyboard amp and 4 x 12 Marshall Cab. Shows my age really. Not gigged in earnest for two decades. still what else would you use your garage for?

Nice, Who makes those now? Sylvania, Brimar?

You're probably too young, but do you remember KT66's and the more powerful KT88's..both triode/pentodes. Used to glow beautifully..to the beat of the music if you put 'em in class C...

I also used to have a Linear30 "amp in a birdcage" which was our very first PA amp
in my first band. I was about 13 I think. Used to run 30 watts into a pair of 4ohm celestions with a following wind. Had those pointy knobs on it, very swish at the time. And you could see the valves inside it. Funny how things turn full circle aint it?

Steve.

Well dont ever get rid of the B3 will you.
I'd give my right arm to be able to do our Santana stuff (Bl Mag wom and OyoComova) on the right instrument not to mention the spencer Davis stuff,
but it's not really practical to lug one round just for about 4 songs. Not that I'd be able to play with my right arm missing...
The Korg X5D gets close with it's "KillerB" patch..but you cant beat a leslie can you.

Never owned a DX7 couldnt afford it at the time, as I was just starting out in KB's in the mid 80's after getting bored with guitar. I did have it's little brothers though a DX21 and a TX81Z module. Also had a QX1 sequencer with 5.25" drive...a wonderous piece of kit.

One of the nicest synths Ive owned was a Kawai K4 (as heard on Elton Johns sacrifice)..tonally quite percussive and not a million miles away from the DX7.

I havent bought any instruments for about three years now. My last purchase was a Roland XV 5050 rack module, to complement my XP80 which Ive had since '97 and really does more or less anything asked of it.

My gigging setup is:

XP80, SY85 and Korg X5D on three tier stand.
20U rack with Tascam MM20 Keyboard Mixer, Roland XV5050, Zoom RFX2000,
Peavey Keyboard Rack amp and Monitoring amp, as well as Foldback selection Patch panel and a few other bits and Pieces.
Yamaha and Goodmans PA units on Stands (For Keyboards)

For Guitars

Red Strat..my main instrument,
Fleetwood round back Electro accoustic,
Epiphone Sheraton for Blues stuff
Occasionally I'll use my trusty Eko Ranger which Ive had since about 1969 and it's still the best accoustic action Ive played.
For effects I just use a Korg AX1000G which does most of what I want.
Depending on where we're playing I sometimes take the Hughes and Kettner stack..more for looks really.
Since we've had the boat Ive been banned by SWMBO from ploughing any more money into music, so I try not to read any music mags these days to avoid temptation.
At least boating is something we do together, so the same spending restrictions dont apply...

See yer

Steve.

When I did gig a Hammond it was a split M100 which I used with Hiwatt Dr100 and 2 4x12 orange Cabs.

I had a Hammond C3 also and after I had sold the Split Hammond I did gig the C3 but its just too big. It needed the rest of the band to carry it!

I bought a M100 a while ago but sold it on Ebay because our Garage looks like a music shop. SHMBO said why do you want another one? I just love them and would fill a Warehouse with them if given the time and opportunity.

"And im proud to say that i have never had the inclination to learn to play stairway to heaven!! ?"

You should. It's one of the simplest pieces you'll ever have to learn and they'll think you're a star. Amazing how some of these things look and sound so complicated but are actually very simple.
After years of listening to and marvelling at the style, I'm now learning to play Gypsy Jazz and I'm amazed to find that's not as complicated as it sounds either. Playing it like Django though - that's something else.
