Guess what\'s appeared in our marina

A Leopard 23 Hardtop, not to mention Jon Bailey who popped in to see us yesterday - not in the Leopard, BTW. I think it's the same Leopard I went aboard at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show last October. Not many of them about this side o't' pond.

So where did Jon fit the extra tanks then! I've got to carry an extra 50 odd litrs just to make france from the uk. Has he found some mid atlantic refuelling point he's not telling us about.
Oh and don't let brendan know or he'll just get jealous that hes not "done" the pond and will take off poste haste on the very weak excuse that the Regal has to go back to the factory for something

Re: Guess what\'s appeared in our marina

Never mind all that. I was watching one of those "moving abroad" type programs on channel 4, and it featured Florida. It looked brilliant. And value for money!! Jeeez, those waterfront houses were going for a song, relatively speaking, that is! The facilities looked good and the living looked cheap. I bet you smile each time you fill up the tanks for 7.4L's!! Ya just wouldn't dare over here.

Nice sunny day per chance? :)

shhhhhh about the properties! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

more seriously I have to admit to looking very closely at some about 10 miles inland - get enough change to buy a decent sized boat and stick it in the marina to live on from time to time.

and then of course there is the fishing -

Re: ooh

Dockexpress? Wassat then, some kind of FedEx for boats??
I agree, it's not the most attractive of boats. Looks like the Baja 80 that used to be here. Most attractive bit was the huge rooster tail it threw up.

Re: Guess what\'s appeared in our marina

Funnily enough, Dave, it is sunny and about 70F, in contrast to yesterday morning when the wind chill was 35F.
Well, I wince (fixed income - more or less, y'know) when I put 200 gal in my boat, even at $1.79/US gal, especially when it drinks it at the rate of 1.7US gal/nm at 22kt. It's only money, but every little counts, so I do go across Sarasota Bay (7nm round trip ) to fill up, 'cos they are charging $2.25 in our marina ($1.50 for diesel).

Re: ooh

yep, Fedex for boats is a perfect description - it's one of the operators of boat transport ships across the atlantic.

No rooster with L23's as we've got olde worlde ordinary props, not surface drives [sigh]

I could put a big flexible tank full of fuel in a Rib and tow the rib??

Wonder what cruising speed would be with the tow?

Re: Surface drives

Just ship BarryH and Aztec out there for a week. Would have some surface drives made in no time, with tcm doing the design bit. Can't see it's that difficult

Re: Guess what\'s appeared in our marina

I've just caught up with this post after a day at Universal - Islands of Adventure and Wet 'n' Wild; combined a bit like a trip to the IOW in a F9 only warmer!

Pleased to confirm that both Arthur Wood and the Leopard are for real. Whether either is good looking is really just a matter of taste. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif. Cannot be any more insulting because already taken advantage of Arthur's hospitality and expect to be using a bit more before the end of the holiday.

If I buy this SE250 then I'll meet Brendan half way across and with the Regal World headquarters just up the road I'll pick up a couple of new windscreean to keep him going.

Still trying to figure out how to use the new GPS before moving to Cape Coral at the weekend. So far the holiday has lived up to the whole families expectations so all is well, with two of us yet to buy the ice creams (anyone who has a strop has to buy ice creams for everyone else).

Looking forward to going out with Arthur and trying out 15.8L of petrol inboards. I hope that he has also blagged a ride on the leopard by then.

Well if you're there. Also need new door, with hinges and lock, and the sill thing that goes across the top (the one you taped up so nicely!)

If you want to meet halfway, can refuel you from rib bowser

Sounds like you are having fun. Enjoy!

Now there's an idea. Could stop off in Cuba and roll a few maidens thighs......it's something like that isn't it?
