Had a very nasty experience with Emsworth piles back in my youth(spring tide n westerly blow), glad to see they have been removed.

Does anyone remember the old timber ships (Colliers I think) , that used to lie along the foreshore just a few meters to the west of the entrance to the Yacht Haven. I think the council had 'em broken up and removed as they were a safety hazard, dreadful shame, but I suppose they had a point as kids were always clambering over them and having fun!

Apparently they do a keyhole job on piles nowadays, or just put rubber bands on them.
