Can anyone shed any light on the contact details and facilities available at Goole - I understand that there is a marina there but cannot find any information about it.
Former regular poster Martin Whiteley used to keep his boat there. It's not exactly Port Solent but there are a few mooring scattered around the upper docks. To get out onto the River you have to go through the docks to the lock so you may well find your pride and joy rubbing fenders with a rusty cargo ship.
Not shure who owns the "marina" berths you could possibly try Associated British ports (ABP) in Goole they may be able to help. I would suggest a PM to Martin but I'm not sure that he looks in on here any more and I have to admit that I have shamefully lost his telephone number.
I've a friend who penned into the lock last weekend - after being made to stand off on the river for 45 minutes whilst a commercial vessel (eventually) penned out.
You can't blame them - it's a commercial operation. But I wouldn't keep a boat there.
There are 2 both well run I havnt got tel. no,s( on boat) but if you ring Goole Lock 01405721128 they should know. They are opposite one another on Aire and Calder canal.about 1/4mile from docks.
