Looking for a company to supply us with some spray dodgers with lettering - any recommendations for good prices?

Thanks,

Simon

I can confidently recommend Attwools of Gloucester.

They are a major commercial outfit that also is pleased to do small jobs. I've had several items from them, and they've been excellent - and cheap - provided you specify fairly clearly what you want them to make. They'll also send small round fabric samples - I have several dozen, and use them for various repairs.

See their catalogue, then talk to them.

:)

Eastcoastbernie is to be found on the East Coast forum and sails a boat out of Levington. I have not had any work done yet, but numerous forumites have and they speak very highly of her. Her link is as per Moodysabre's post.

Thanks for those specific recommendations. The Martex firm uses the same material as the yachtdodgers ones but charge 50% less for some reason. I've asked Bernie for a quote as well.

Meanwhile it's time to change the boat's name; we've got 9 letters and for two dodgers at £2 a letter I reckon I could save a bundle with a shorter name.

I had a Martex sprayhood and dodgers and they were top quality and at a very good price. The owner chap is a very hard-working guy who attends all the boatjumbles with his wares. I would not hesitate to use them again, but I do favour using someone local if they are competative.

I know this is a old post, I was searching the forum last night to see folks thoughts on Martex and came across the last post. I rang Martex today and he is still doing canvas work and always has.

Whatever company you choose it 's my advice that you have 'windows' in the top half of the dodgers.
This leaves you visually in touch with the environment a lot more whilst still giving wind and splash protection.
I'd also advise having many attachment points along the top edge of each dodger but only a few at the bottom which are held by lightweight fastening such as small cable ties.
This means that a large wave would be likely to break away the bottom fixings without damaging the dodger or stanchion attaching points.
For those in the Solent area Jan at Wicormarine made my dodgers 07989 515 953
