What does it cost to get a repair done to topside gelcoat which has a shalllow scratch (not through to laminate)? Scratch is about 30cm long. Will the repair be invisible? This is on a used boat I am considering buying and is only 3 years old and otherwise pristine.

Not interested in knowing how to do it myself. I want a professional repair.

Depends where you are in the World, but should be fairly cheap, it is not a big job.
I have my bill for the repair of a worse scratch here (done in the Hamble) and it less than £100 inc VAT.
Probably not worth quibbling over unless boat is over-priced anyway.
Any repair should be invisable when done.

If it is shallow it will be taken out with wet and dry, no point in filling. 0.5 hour labour max, I would say £50 top price. C&N did a repair for me recently...
We must have hit something under the water and a smallish lump had been taken off the skeg. Price to drop the rudder, make repair, touch up antifoul was a £100 including VAT. C&N are good but not cheap hence I think about £50.

If the scratch is deeper and colour matched fillere is required then £100 nearer the mark.
