My 2024 inspection was £144 which included VAT (£24) and a marina fee (£30) for allowing contractors to work on owners boats. Actual Labour cost for the inspection and pressure test was £90 (Ex vat). No other work was carried out, just the labour to inspect, test and issue certificate. This was a Scottish based, Gas Safe, marine competency inspector. I thought any Gas Safe could do it, but apparently there are different levels of optional competencies that need to be in place for Gas Safe, for boats they need the marine one, apparently.

I paid £90 to Navigators marine - but it's only valid for one year which seems a bit cheeky
