Your style of sailing may influence where you want to keep the boat
If you want to race and or use the boat in the evenings remember that it's light up to 10pm mid Sumer the Rhu is best option .
If you are looking for a place where you can weekend from the further down river makes a lot of sense I am surprised at your distance to fairlie but any way it's quicker than by boat
Look at the map you will see that there are a lot of lochs which you have to drive round for example you can see roseneath from rhu but its a long way round but if you are going from work you are half way there
Where ever you moor I am sure you will enjoy your sailing.
