Galleon Bar at the Bugle Hotel is definitely worth giving a wide berth.

The fish cakes came frozen in the middle and not a piece of fish in sight. My husbands bangers and mash was primarily reconstituted potato - complaint made to the manager and he admitted as much. At approx £8 pounds I would expect real potatoes.

On the other hand Jireh House just opposite was truly excellent. Fabulous seafood platters, baguettes etc. worth a visit.

I agree, avoid this place for food. I was there last Tuesday. It was only half full, I bought drinks, sat down, selected from the extensive menu and went to order only to be told that "we are taking no more food orders". I protested that it was only 8pm and last food orders are advertised at 9pm - they said "sorry but we are busy". I went back the following night at 7.15pm, not to caught out again I tried to order food before I bought drinks only to be told that there was over an hour wait for food! When I was at the bar someone was complaining about the food that they had waited over an hour for.

With hindsight it sounds as if I was lucky not to be served!! AVOID.

Couple of year back it was good .... spent a lay-over waiting for weather to improve and eat there each day ... was fine, normal wait for cooking time, good portions etc.

But like most things they all come to an end !! Like the good old Folly !!!
