I have a FUSO 310 fish finder that I inherited with the boat. The unit powers up with the screnn and basic graphics. After inspection it seems that the unit is devided into two boards inside. One board looks like it is a control and graphics board and the other looks like the tansducer driver. The transducers themselves are sealed units but visual inspection of them shows no sign of damage. The problem apears to be a blown resistor (R5) on the transducer board, because its good and crispy I cant tell what value it was and hence cant replace it to try and trouble shoot further. Needles to say I have been told that FUSO has gone out of business. What I need is a circuit diagram of this unit, or for some kind soul to take the back off their unit and look for the resistor marked (R5) on the smaller circuit board and email me the value. (If you don,t know the colour stripe scheme of resistors just tell me the four colours in order.) Its not a newer unit but repacement is a bit costly. And I am a PBO!!

moto :I try 2 yot 4 nix.

Marty,
I do have a Fuso 310 on my boat. The problem being at the moment, is that she is out on a swinging mooring, and I won't be going onboard for another couple of weeks. Also, the water taxi is not yet up and running, so I have to take and pump the dinghy to get out to her.

The instruction manual is also on board, and from memory, there was no cct diag in it.

The most I can do now, is to call in to a local marine electronic company at Falmouth on Friday to see if they have any info on the 310. Other than that, you will have to wait until I go on board, and open the back to have a look - R5.

If you want it, I could also scan the instruction card and email it to you. But you will have to wait a few weeks. Sorry to not be of any instant assistance to you.

BTW, where are you in Oz?? Spent 25 years going to Oz on containerships. Many friends in many places.

Philip

I said I would get back to you - next time I was on the boat.

Well, I have got the 310 Fishfinder here at home now, and have opened it up.

R5, between C19 and D5, is 51 Ohms - Green, Brown, Black, with 5% Gold tolerance. With a DVM on Ohms, mine read 52.8 Ohms. It looks to be about 1/4 Watt or even less - is that what you see it as?

I'll be keeping it here at home for a week or so, so if you want any more info, let me know before I put it back on the boat.

BTW, with regard to the transducer - when it is out of its housing, and switched on, can you hear a very faint clicking? If so, it is probably working. Then again, I had to have a new transducer that was clicking, but not showing an echo.
