Fuel gauge reads Empty when Full and vice versa!

The problem that you have is an European gauge with Usa sensor or Usa gauge with European sensor.

Sorry. I didn't look at the post date. But since I had the same problem, I take the opportunity to share this information with anyone who needs it.

Unscrew it and reverse the end the float is at (taking care to have the position along the arm the same after replacement). I think he has the float round the vertical tube version - NOT an arm that swings

That may be so but Dunning Kruger has determined that the less you know the more you think you know The know it all syndrome), and the more you know the more you understand you don't know at all.

Why do you keep picking on new members who pick up and old thread. I don't care as I could learn something new from an old thread I may have missed.

Like when the young bull said, lets run down to mate with some of the cows and the old bull said let walk down and mate with then all.

Experience beats youth and exuberance any day.

I simply pointed out the thread is 6 years old, otherwise everyone starts to respond as if it's a current thread.

Why don't you spend less time worrying about what i post.

Converts: 0-190 OHM to 240-33 OHM and 240-33 OHM to 0-190 OHM

its a small box that needs 12v power but might help for other people with this problem

If I had better access to under the tank - I would fit the old style sight gauge - tube outside the tank connected top and bottom - so level of tank is clearly shown in the tube ... no electrics, no air pressure blast, no floats ... nothing to go wrong except blocked tube or split ...
I would accept the lack of cockpit readout for its simplicity and reliability.

What I have at present is a stick and large access screw hatch into top of tank ... I have calibrated the stick by use of 5 litre bottles filling - emptying and then refilling tank (to check each way !) ... The bunk base that lifts up to give access - has a paper tape stuck in length along it ... so I hold the stick next to it and read of the litres ...

The only bit I miss actually is an alarm to warn me when tank is near full as it is a two man operation unless you keep stopping and checking. One man in cabin watching the level ... second man with diesel pump into filler.
I thought about getting one of those generator fuel gauges that sit in top of tank ... with a pointer that swings EMPTY - FULL ... not for gauging all the tank but just for that top part to avoid overfilling.

I did fit a swing arm gauge sender and cockpit gauge ... but it never read properly ... I either had it indicate correct empty or correct full ... but never both ! I did all the arm length adjustments .. followed all the instructions to the letter ... in the end I noticed the gauge was glass broken and knacked ... some guest must have accidentally kicked it ..... so it sits there feeling sorry for itself ... one day I may try again.

Its was what I felt was quite an aggressive way you responded to the poster who simply posted to an old thread.

I simply don't see that it matters and wanted to assure the new poster that it was OK despite you post.

The original poster and the date of the original posting is in the entry list and if someone misses that so what.

Its common on all forums that a new and even older poster forgets to check date and posts reply .. I cannot even guess how many times I've done it ! I use the New Posts click and there a thread is .. so I read and answer if I can ...

TBH - many old posts contain excellent questions / solutions that for someone today could solve their problem. So the fact old posts get dragged out - so what ... all info is good.

You could have done so without being rude. But you don't seem to know how to do that.

You cry forum police, yet here you are dictating what can and can't be said, because you "don't see that it matters."

Paul You don't seem to get me maybe its because you consider be on old fart but

Don't take anything below a meaning directed at you, its my general philosophy of life.

I try to treat all people with respect providing they respect others people's view.

I see people as individuals with good and bad in all groupings.

If someone makes constructive criticism I try to evaluate with on open mind to see what I can take/learn from it

I don't take offence with destructive/sarcastic criticism Life is too short to worry.

I detest people who lie for their own ends.

I may not always succeed at all the above as I have still have human emotions

Below has also been one of my guiding principles, particularly the first part.




We are getting too far off the subject of this post so I will not reply.
