Frosty breath

I think it will also depend on the relative humidity. Vapour is probably a better word, although someone else may have a more precise term.

The humidity of our breath is typically 100% for all practical purposes so it becomes a matter of the temperature. This can vary depending on the dryness of the air but if the air is fairly humid, that is above 80% RH your breath can be seen at 9.2 C. If the air is very dry, less than 20%, then it requires a cooler temperature near 5.5 C.
