Contact Andrew Corless at Sheriden Marine in Moulsford. He is devoted to Freemans and what he does not know about Freemans ain't worth knowing, we bought our first 22 from him and he was really helpfull.
From my dealings with Freemans, I would whole heartedly endorse them.
Super boat, well made, usually single diesel, but some twins around.
If you are seriously looking I believe "Byron" should be able to put you in touch with a twin engined version that is currently available? (Bernard R, Byron?)
YEP! If you want EMail me I do know someone who is selling a twin engined Freeman. Incientally Freeman is just another word for quality, you couldn't afford to build a boat to those standards in this day and age.
Wholeheartedly agree with the above. We had a Freeman 27 for three years till 99 and it was a really good solidly built boat, perfect for river work, the keel makes it very directionally stable. We had the single BMC 1.8 diesel and it ran perfectly. Had to spend a bit of money on it to get it through the BSS, but I guess your one's already got that all done. I've got the original MBY article from mid 70's somewhere and if you're interestd send me an e-mail with your snail mail address and I'll post it to you FOC. Only comment I'd make about Sheridan Marine is that they're only really interested in you keeping the boat in original condition so if you want to update anything, i.e halogen lights or modern gadgets, they get a bit "off" with you. In its day it was built to very high standards and was pitched at the same price as a new "E type" and in the end they just couldn't make any money on them so went bust. Standard of finish of their varnishing would be hard to match even today. If it's a good 'un, buy it you won't be disappointed.
