?

Is this the news I've been waiting for...?

?

A Satire 38 is the ideal Isolation space for any RNA type virus.

The Satire 38, with its solidly pre-ventilation era interior , its generous supply of dark corners and inaccessible bilge spaces, reassuringly complex aromas and a patina accrued across 50 years of reassuringly damp English winters.
Any self isolating owner can be assured that nothing, absolutely nothing , is going to get past that little lot and go viral on his watch!
And breeding is nigh on impossible, the atmosphere “ just isn’t there” .
MAB: Who needs a vaccine ?
Lol ?

If you recognize it as satire then by definition the OP does not need to mark it as such.

I didn't recognize it as satire. That's why I made the suggestion. My opinion changed after doing a background check to make sure the BBC hadn't posted it (trust not in the infallibility of man).

That's all right. Sometimes I don't get a joke or punchline at first. It's a sign of.... something. You're forgiven.

Oh, I see you're from Wales. Not much given to gentle humour. Strict Chapel, eh?

Not given to racism either.

That's a bit close to having jokes explained to you. Who is grateful for that?

In this case, someone may misunderstand and believe that yachties are more susceptible to Covid-19. Some people take it all too seriously, and I believe there was an announcement on Fake News items...

To the best of my knowledge, being 'Strict Chapel' isn't a Protected Characteristic.... yet!

But then, I haven't read The Grauniad for a few days. :ROFLMAO:

No but* discrimination based on where you live is.

Refers to the protected characteristic of race. It refers to a group of people defined by their race, colour, and nationality (including citizenship) ethnic or national origins.

Religion and belief

Religion refers to any religion, including a lack of religion. Belief refers to any religious or philosophical belief and includes a lack of belief. Generally, a belief should affect your life choices or the way you live for it to be included in the definition.

That explains it! I stopped reading old copies of The Grauniad left on the chairs of my barber-shop quite some years ago. Perhaps I missed the call to arms of the 'wokerati'....

Or perhaps this shines some light into a murky corner....

Who are Guardian Patrons?
Guardian Patrons are a community of like-minded supporters who help safeguard the Guardian's journalistic freedom and long-term sustainability. They understand the urgent challenges facing the world - and the vital role The Guardian plays in helping to solve them.

Hands up if you are a Guardian Patron, Mr Illuminati. Or even just a fellow-traveller ( Principality Division ). :giggle:

REALLY! It is obvious it is a joke from the outset "men who bought boats are thought most likely to carry the Corona Virus" to the ending " carry out the next bonkers plan", Cmon get a grip at the back, you surely didn't check the BBC had not really posted it.

Decades ago New Scientist used to publish a spoof article near April 1st. The best ones started off quite convincing and gradually made less and less likely claims as you read through them. A bit in the same vein as the "Galactic Storage Device" invented by my former employer (https://www.george3.co.uk/_media/galacticstoragedevice.pdf)

I did actually, credit to the op but for the most part it read like the usual BBC articles. It was only later on that I grew suspicious and checked.
