In a move to further enhance it's position as the anti cruelty party, the government are intending to ban hunting by foxes.
A government spokesman said that given that foxes have now been spared the prospect of being ripped apart by dogs, it hardly seems fair that they should be allowed to needlessly rip to shred countless chickens and rabbits. It is well known that foxes kill for sport and kill much more than they need just for food, and this kind of cruelty can no longer be tolerated.
A spokesman for the other side, Edward Fox, said that they will be fighting this ban all the way to he Lords, as it goes to the very heart of their culture. He further stated that now that they no longer have the free exercise provided by the hunting fraternity, they would be forced to kill even more wildlife to fill those extra quiet moments and remain in shape as well as feed the growing population.
Fox media will be lending it's full support to the campaign.
The government has suggested that the brutal killing of one animal by other is no longer appropriate nor neccessary in modern society where canned food is readily available in large quantities. Fray Bentos are already preparing a bid to be supplier of choice once the ban comes into effect.
