An Avon doesn’t need a long shaft?

Lashed alongside it doesn’t matter much if the front goes soft.

I wasn’t saying he should, just what I have done.

It doesn't go soft, it goes totally flaccid...

I've done it as well, and it was friends who towed us into the marina here from the anchorage like that. Fine in an emergency, but as a deliberate start and end to a passage down this coast in Autumn it is far from ideal. 5m swell out there today!

1. Too much information.... ( do they sell oysters there? )

2. is there a good surf break? 5m swell would be mental. How far is Nazarae? I’d love to see that going off - from the land.

We went to North Beach when we were in Nazaré, but it was not a great surf day.

No surf break in Cascais.

I'm quite a distance from being a fanboy, but even I know enough about Webby to recognise he has more than enough under his keel to be able to make sound decisions about what's 'on' and what's not, for him and his lady.

There are several ways to say this but, politely - 'It's not a debate, nor is it a democratic vote.'
