They have done a good job with just the Genoa in squalls, must have been a pain hauling that in and out all the time. No wonder they are ready to arrive. Thanks for the updates IDAMAY, still enjoying reading them. :encouragement:

seems to be consistently over the supersonic speed of 6kn on the triangular front ragpiece. Wonder if they got properly bored and fired up both engines :D
looks like they'll be arriving in the evening.

BTW, do they split up and make their own way from there on, or is there another organised tour after this main crossing?

We had a brief update from Ann overnight. They have been using motor pretty consistently over the last 24 hours. They definitely want to arrive before dark this evening. At 08.00 (UTC) this morning they had 44 miles to run and should arrive around local lunchtime today.

I don't think there are any organised cruises beyond St Lucia but often crews will get together for informal cruises in company around the Caribbean. They still have quite a long way to go to reach Florida but I imagine they will want a bit of land time before continuing with their adventure.

Made it :)

Excellent, was it something on your bucket list, the Atlantic is there so lets beat it or I fancy a trip to the Caribbean?

Bloody good job done. Congratulations on your Trans-At and well held together by the crew when the main failed. Pics and a report are required now when you have pampered yourselves for a few days. Well done guys. :encouragement::cool:

Many congratulations.....what an achievement. I bet land will feel odd!
+1, also ref. your bet.
I have vivid memories of sitting in a restaurant the evening after my first longish passage many years ago, wondering why the table was slowly but undoubtedly oscillating up and down... :D
And that was after about 35 hours at sea! :o

I am green with envy, can't convince MrsA to do it. (which gets me off the hook 'cos I'm a bit scared really)
glad you all arrived safe and well - enjoy the Americas and let us know how you are getting on.

PS if you are looking for crew for the return trip, I would love to be involved

PPS -I could phone around if you want, and find someone else ;-)

Thanks for all the responses - and Richard for setting up the post. I will start a thread tomorrow, with a full report, (from a moboers POV), that I will be able to maintain as we head to the USA and motor around the ICW.

Best regards

Nigel and Ann
