There's a flood alert for the river Bure above Hoveton, which is unusual, as normally our flood alerts are from the sea...

Interestingly they have shut our tide gate at Woodbridge this morning, but the midday tide was lower than yesterday’s. Maybe the next midnight one will justify it? We are just past Springs but the predicted tidal heights are much the same for a couple of days.

There's an awful lot of water in rivers like the Great Ouse - there's a flood alert for where I live, though I think I'm safe enough (I'm a whole metre above the surrounding area). But I crossed the Ouse this morning, and it was running bankfull and overflowing the area between the river channel and levees.

I’m 30 metres above any water, so I hope I’m OK for a century or two.

Tide this pm was over a metre above prediction and the EA shut the flood gate at Gravesend Canal Basin. Water overtopped the prom by quite a bit but it does that several times a year nowadays.
