Looking for method to fit new anode within the brass nut after it has been drilled clean of the residual anode. e.g. Beta exchanger
Aware that you can buy tapped nuts and replace subsequently with threaded anode - but I am not asking that question.I have a number of anodes available and a number of nuts .
Seems to me that I could use available lead for this purpose or solder by melting into the narrow gap. This should give electrical continuity and lead is superior to the zinc anode on the galavanic series.
But probably too superior. So maybe lead free solder.
Thoughts please.

10 crikey ,even if they last a year. For some reason I resent the cost of anodes when I happily shell out for filters ,O rings etc. etc.
I have had trouble with the type that screw in to the reusable nut as some of the hex nuts bought have'nt been symmetrical and are a right pain to successfully grip with spanner when you don't have sight.
The nuts now in question are good but don't actually have a screw thread so hence the question.
But I will look into tapping. The pencil anodes in question are Canadian so I was surprised to find an M8 thread.I would have to thread the other end for these nuts.
Solder would be an easier solution if I can be sure of the composition.
Thank you for replies.

10 pencil anodes at around £7.00 each (with threaded end ) and couple of hours work + lots of cursing and skinned knuckles....
vs
2 x replacement Heat exchangers /Oil coolers ££££££££££
