As I am now moored on the Itchen for a while does anyone know of any good fishing spots in the Eastern Solent?

I now have my fishfinder all fitted up so they won't stand a chance (!!!!!) provided I know which direction to head in, so any advice much appreciated.

This includes Mackerel holding areas because I still need bait fish or for the b-b-q.

Head out to the Nab tower area - everything available!

I will send you a chart of the East Solent marks showing all the major fish holding areas/species and seasons.

ps Still think you should have come to Poole - what's the big attraction of the Solent in Summer?

Thanks Duncan - at least you won't have any competition if I'm in the Solent!

I'll still come to Poole at one time or another because boat being kept on trailer. Real reason I'm going to Shamrock Quay is because close to home and good value package they are offering.

John,
Let me know when you are in Southampton and we can meet up/cruise together as I am in Ocean Village.

Hi

Anywhere up to 1/2 mile E/W of the Bouy right at the bottom of the drop off around sixty feet for cod in the winter, during the summer from Bouy to 10 feet near the UK shore for all the summer species.

Dave.
