First time out this year and engine dies....

Jimmy
100% correct according to my my tame marine engineer. pity he is in wales....

rafiki yep done the obvious stuff, bought a plug tester, sits between lead and plug and has a wee bulb in it, didn't test it on a known good spark first though D'oh. Dizzy is spinning OK, cap and rotor arm have seen better days and will be replaced but I don't think that's what it is...

OK found the problem - faulty kill switch.

Mea Culpa

Not exactly faulty, I must have knocked it to the off position with my knee and never thought to check it. And here's me a motorcyclist...

D'oh

Some phrases spring to mind, "well at least it didn't cost anything", "good lesson learned", "what a &^%$ing £"!$%er"

Well at least we can get out this weekend - hopefully....

Thanks to all who took the time to read this thread and post advice

Cheers

Haha - you legend! Well done for telling us. I did that the first trip out this year and sat there panicking for a few minutes several miles off the coast so you're not alone!

Oh deary me....sorry to hear about your woes Nick, still all sorted now and hopefully the Summer will soon be with us.
I'm helping Antifoul this weekend then in a few weeks ours is being lifted at Port Medway for the same plus an insurance survey....only a quickie though over four days...practice my speed antifouling this weekend.

Alf,
I meant did I fill the jerry cans with diesel at the pump on the way down to the boat, answer was no I didn't...

Al where are you helping to antifoul, I'll try and pop over and say hello. Or beer and a curry on the Rochester Queen Saturday night?

Cheers

Nick
