I don’t know the reasoning, it’s certainly not cheaper. It does seem that most fleece fabric has gotten thinner and more plasticy in recent times so perhaps the “good fleece” they used to line it with is no longer available or maybe it’s more popular and I’m just old and grumpy 🤣

I have just bought a Berghaus Gore Windstopper second hand on eBay as better than can find new

Thanks for the warning. That happens so often. Bean counters at work, or just fashion?

Any suggestions for an alternative?
When my Musto Snug was worn out, I replaced it with a Henri Lloyd midlayer jacket lined with Primaloft, which is brilliant, the warmest I have ever had. Sadly no longer available, but I noticed Musto now have a Primaloft jacket. I have no experience of it, but it might be worth a try.
