I had a look at a couple, and the Etap 22 and 21 before buying a Dehler 22. Usual story... it depends what you want to do with it and what your sailing area is like.
Gossip I picked up during my research was that the 211 sails more like a big dinghy than a small yacht. One guy had added some internal ballast and said it helped greatly. Also I heard that an owner in Fowey who left his boat on a mooring had problems with the bush/keel pivot point wearing through regularly.
Very nice comfortable cockpit, sails well in light-medium breeze. You become very aware of its light displacement and size when the breeze is up. Not sure you would want to trailer sail on a one day basis as the swing keel doesnt retract fully so its a bit more of a struggle to launch than say an etap 22i. Obvoiusly there are issues with drying out!
The PBO copy shop had a great six (?) boat review from a few years back with the Ben 210, Etap 22, Dehler 25, Parker 21 and others which is very informative.
Not aware of any build defects... if you go to www.beneteau-owners.com you can seek out other owners a quiz them.
