You have one of the earliest and imo best windvanes there-I have a lot of experience of fitting and using the very same gear on a boat that was so unbalanced as to knacker your arms out unless steering was attempted with bungee restrainers and sometimes, a 2:1 rope purchass across the tiller !
The quiet freedom of sailing under a vane was wonderful.

It was that size before resizing, resized photo is the smaller, but the forum would not let go of the larger version.
