Fifty Feet of Grey (steel)

sorry, I think he'll have to drink all the 3tons before he enters Norge waters, Alf??

cheers

V.

Think he can leave approx. 5 Litres in the tank and take it in tax free... :)

or balance that into a combination of Spirits, Wine & Beer..

Sorry Rob ..... :(

Shocking.... Thats not even a crate of beer..... :(

Hm.... Best i do what the locals do, and knock up an illicit still.....
Engine room surprise anyone :D

so, the idea with the double keel is back (the purpose is different!)
although you could use the beer in the double keel area to cool the engines, warm beer

See? After all, the double hull bottom I previously mentioned was worth a thought...! :D

Btw, today I went to my yard to see how the deck recaulking is proceeding on my old tub (behind schedule of course, aaarumph!), and couldn't help thinking of our debate when I saw the following hull. Not something very common on plastic vessels as this, but gives an idea of what I was talking about....

LOL, no worries, hairs are a nuisance when diving. :D
...though BartW might think otherwise, I reckon!

Although its in primer, its going to have to go back to bright n shiny....
Primer has been on too long.... Next coats wont stick, so its got to come off....

We settled on, after a few discussions... 25x25 4blade prop. Aquaquad 87dar
Gives 16% tip clearance
Shafts are 50mm temet25
Fabricated stainless p brackets, inset boxes in the hull, to reduce noise and cavitation. Set in scotch fast...
Carrying a total of 3500 litres of fuel....
I think we can squeeze more in, but... This at the moment is in two tanks, port and stbd... So its simple... Longer range tanks, i cant see being an issue... I had thoughts of smaller main tanks, any way, and yhen additional LR tanks... But been talked out of it...

Not sure if latestarter is reading this.... But i am sure somewhere i read his thoughts on gearbox mounting points, and wether they were used or not. Or, if he used the gearbox mount, and not the associated engine mount...
