Hi l have a ferro boat that was built upside down over a blank. The boat is now 35 years old and in great condition. At 30 feet long it weighs in at only 3.5 tons. The hull thickness is 3/8ths inch thick (not a misprint!).The hull wall contains between 5 and 7 layers of wire mesh which was stretched over the blank using power winches . The boat was designed and built by a profesional yard in Geelong, Australia. One of 12, of this design, and of about 120 boats built by this yard.Would love to hear from anyone who has a similar boat or a boat built by The Walker Boat co (Geelong).
