The price isn't too bad BUT

The official in charge of receiving mooring fees will smile ear to ear or more with 246.5 feet length (+/-81 metres) overall at ££££/metre. Ouch!

So will dockside fuelling when you ask for 120,000 litres - better increase the Visa limit.

LWL for berthing ?

If you could find a marina that charges for waterline length and only surface as far as the con tower then it would only be 10 metres or so.

However, anyone trying to berth along from you would find it a bit shallow

I saw on in a copy of "Boten" in Holland that seemed pretty reasonable although it also looked like it was home built. In fact my Dutch isn't too good but I could swear it said, "Leaks a bit, that accounts for the recent price reduction."

Re: Beat to windward in a Contessa.....

Sailing at its very best. Hurrah for sprayhoods, though.

There's an interesting description on the Contessa website of Guy Druce rounding Cape Horn solo in a Contessa, including a couple of knockdowns. He describes the Contessa as "submarine with sails".
