You are all probably bored with "fantastic day" type posts - but what the hell, I've had a few glasses (nay, bottles) of red wine, so here goes.

Flat calm seas all the way from Porthmadog to Pwllheli, and we arrived just in time for the fuel pontoon to open after lunch. We filled up with 246 ltrs of LPG and went on our way, having picked up the local coast guard, a guy called John, who joined us just for the ride. My crew were a yachtsmen and his wife, and after a few hours at 30 kts, which enabled them to take in sights that would otherwise take them a week to find, were seriously talking about giving up yachting and come over to the bright side of motor boating.

I had to come home, more's the pity, to put some effort into Valentine's day, as my wife wasn't with me. Damn, drat and double drat, I wish I was still there.

Just as a by-the-way, I worked out that my last fill-up was last September and I have had 8 outings of reasonable length in my boat. So...£77.44 for a fill-up is not at all bad. Roll on better weather!!

Ky-yippee-yay!!

What do you mean "all the way from Porthmadoc to Pwllheli" - it's only about 12mls for god's sake!! This can't have taken you more than 25 minutes.
You took "the coastguard" with you /forums/images/icons/shocked.gif - how selfish and irresponsible was that !! You saw to it that you'd be ok in a crisis but what about anyone else out on the water or walking the coastline - eh ????
/forums/images/icons/wink.gif
It's peed down with rain all day here - bah, humbug !!!

Yeah, its not that far (30nm round trip - but good for this time of year, and better still, 'cos we went the "long" way round. It was just too nice to head back.

The CG was a friend of my crew.

It was the same on the South Coast. Took Popeye out for the first time since the fuel sender glitch has been rectified. Ab Fab! /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

With a clean bottom and new antifoul, popped out of the water and onto 34knts. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif Engine running fine and smooth now after being serviced last week. Bliss.

Now just have to sort out a couple of niggles... temp guage not working and trim guage sticks at half way point. Even SWMBO enjoyed it (apart from the cold).

Bring on the good weather. Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Yes, I do know of Blue Water Marine - but don't know of their activities. They are on the main drag of the Glan-y-Don estate which is where all the marina businesses are.

I had two nice little run outs yesterday - one on a Hunton - achieved 65 mph up Southampton Water. Rain hurts at that speed/forums/images/icons/wink.gif Then went over to Cowes late yesterday and did a delivery back to Hamble. I do love being out in the dark - sea was like a mirror - should really have stayed out longer! But had to apease SWMBO!!

I know Blue Water Marine...chap who runs it has been around there for years under various guises. My old man has bought several boats off him in the past.

How have you come accross them? 'Tis a long way from Spain to sunny North Wales...but half the people I know who go up there also have places on the Costa Del Sol.
