Family Cruiser - Great Ouse System/Broads

Looks like a nice boat! (looks better than my old 800!)The bilge keel may restrict some shallower bank-side mooring but rarely.
If the electronics all work, then they are not out of date.
The quarter berth under the sliding cooker is only really usable for storage but space under the chart table is fine. Masthead rig is a good choice.

Check out the spray hood it says is included as they are expensive to replace, keeps the rain out of the boat on those long sunny bank holidays. ? . A boom awning is a good alternative.

Let us know how you get on!

The Pegasus is a bit pricey but it does look ready to go which for a busy family man like yourself is not to be underestimated.
Doing jobs on boats takes an inordinate amount of time even when you have a fair idea of what's going on.

I love the broads but sailing there for me is an interesting challenge and a change of scenery a couple of times a year but twice a year is enough.
That boat is going to be pretty cosy with three growing kids, especially when it rains, and there is very little shoreside going on apart from Yarmouth which is surprisingly good value for small children.
I would suggest another couple of weeks hiring something and see how you feel about it as a family, by which point you will have seen most if not all of the northern broads.
How enthusiastic is your wife about sailing? Tacking every 3 minutes gets old pretty quick if it isn't really your thing. And sometimes even if it is.

With children that age I would hire a static for the week and then hire a boat for a coupe of days e.g. from whispering reeds. It's all about having options with young kids but of course you already know that.
