Re: Don\'t do it!

You will have to cut the boat to bits to achieve it and glass in bearers, shaft bearings etc. If its not done profesionaly you will never be able to sell it. If you get a proffesional to do it it will be uneconomic because of the amount of work involved. Much cheaper to sell it and buy one with shafts or buy another larger boat with the money instead. Whats wrong with the sterndrives anyway ?

Re: Don\'t do it!

Hi chris, thanks for your message. Sterndrives brings a lot of maintenance, and least remove the boat 2 times a year from water, etc.... From what I saw, the only thing that needs to be cuted is the gas tank, in order to put it in the rear of the boat, and the shipyard that as studied the transformation, gave me a very sensible cost for do it. The hull is the same for both versions, and the supports for the engine are already there. There is not a significant job to done, but of course only by proffesionals.

Dont do it, why do you have to remove your boat twice a year? cant be because of the sterndrives surely, its a big job to convert and will sriously devalue the boat

Of course you will also have to rebuild the transom, purchase gearboxes, shafts, P-brackets, props, rudders, rudder stocks, steering gear. Rearrange control cables, the list is endless.
