facnor reefing system

can these be cut to size ?i have been offered one new in the box and never been fited but is to big it also has a 7mil forestayand my boat only has 6mil would this mater

The Facnor has a telescopic section at the bottom and you adjust its length using that. Have a look at www.facnor.com and see if the model you've been offered can adjust to the length you need. I personally would use the forestay supplied with the Facnor it should not be a major job to change the exsisting one.

This system is built up in sections and has an adjustable section at the base so it is almost infinately variable. The only thing with a 6 mm forestay will be a bit of extra play in the plastic spacer bearings but you can get new ones for the right size if you want. Mine is still going after many years so would recommend it as a sound budget system.
