From our kiwi boys (good on em):

No racing today. The winds were too light and a bit shifty.

Layday tomorrow & then another 3 races (we hope)

The interesting thing about today is that the team is still very strong. The atmosphere around the base this morning was one of relaxed composure with a serious amount of aggression & determination.

If we can win the next one we will go to 3 - 4 to them. That means the next race would be to even the score up 4 - 4. This potentially could put a bit of pressure on the 'Swiss'.

The odds are seriously against us but you never say never. Aus 2 came from 3 - 1 behind and Il moro beat us from a 4 - 1 deficit in 92 I think. Both boats had superior boat speed though.

If we can just get a bit of momentum we might have an outside chance.

So we will take one race at a time and keep hitting them hard.

Not much else to say. You will read this thinking that I have just written a bunch of 'fighting words', well we fully intend to continue with 'fighting deeds'.

If they blink, we will be all over them.

Keep sending good vibes. You never know what might happen. You never know under this sort of pressure when the other guy is going to 'pop'.

Rob,

No-one can doubt your enthusiasm. Me I am supporting the Swiss and yes I know that half of them are from NZ as well but I just like the idea of a quiet unassuming nation, funding and managing a team that goes out and stuffs all the others. Including winning the PR race and all the rest - quite a refreshing change from all that Antipodean hot air.
