Essex or Suffolk charters

I may be looking for a charter from one of the Essex rivers- or possibly from the Orwell. No further north than that. This would be in the summer later this year.

Sailing boat preferred but motor boat not out of the question. Smaller rather than larger, for 2 or 3 people.

Any suggestions or experience?

I think you may be right there. I've lived here most of my life and never heard of any where. Sailing schools yes, boat charters, mnn not so sure.

There is the Classic Sailing Club but it’s not as simple as just buying a charter for a week.

Is it still going? Years ago I went on one of their boats but there’s no answer, the email bounces and I’m pretty sure they have stopped doing business. But I hope I’m wrong!

Ah… I made the silly mistake of assuming they were because the website exists. I suspect you are right - their ‘Events’ page lists events for 2015!

I believe the East Anglian Sea School (EASS) here at SYH have bareboat and skippered charter available, although their boats may be larger than you were aiming for.
