Enke 26T Winch

I purchased a boat that has two 26T Enke winches. I have not figured out how to remove the pick up arm
for the self tailer. Just loosening the top doesn't seem to work. I am trying to service the winch, but can't
get the body of the winch off to do so. Can anyone advise?

Once the Allen bolt is released on the self-tailing arm, the self-tailing arm and the drum should lift up together. It is only the bolt through the self tailing arm that holds the drum on the main spindle. You might have to wedge the self-tailing arm open with a screwdriver to break it free of the spindle.
