I have two x 125hp Yanmars. I got out the manual to locate the position of the engine anodes, no joy. So, I went down to the boat to have look. it was not immediately apparent as to where they were so I decided to phone the engineer. It seems they don't have engine anodes. Can anyone tell me why this is so?

Indirectly cooled engines do not have anodes in the cooling circuit any more than your car does. They are protected by the corrosion inhibitors in the antifreeze / coolant. For this reason you should change the coolant regularly.

There may however be anodes in the heat exchangers but your manual and the engineer should tell you that if it is so
