Drilling Stainless Steel

You must be very lucky not to have all the troubles that most here seem to experience. :)

One of the thinks I am grateful for learning during my Engineering Apprenticeship was how to hand sharpen drills correctly. My be that's one of the reasons I have lesser problems than others.

I also increased the power of the motor on my bench drilling machine which helps in applying more drilling pressure without stalling the drill. Stalling the drill bit will damage the cutting edge especially carbide cutting tools.

well today my mower steering went tits up.
also my drill press switch was u/s so it was a battery drill HSS 6mm drill bit & lube.
so had to drill A2 SS to accept an 8mm tap to make up a new 7x7 steering wire & terminals
Guess i was just plain lucky
