Thanks but it’s a 3 cylinder and the lump to the left of the rad cap is totally different.

Interesting … I hade a 2020D on my last boat … it didn't have that strange lump alongside the heat exchanger.

Thanks. The engine in my picture doesn’t have that ‘fuse box’ on the side.

Top tip: if you ever get intermittent starting … control panel dead, then live … there’s a really simple spade terminal that goes into that box that just needs crimping tighter … they can vibrate lose.

A friendly passing Volvo mechanic in deepest Brittany told me that … for free😳😳😊😳

The first picture is identical to my Perkins M20 except sprayed green instead of blue maybe an early 2020,there were 4 variants A,B,C and D the early ones using the Lucas A127 alternator same as the Perkins but later models used a different alternator along with different more comp!icated electrics.
