I have removed the canopy and given it a good clean with water and a brush. I have also cleaned the plastic windows with cutting compound and waxed them - much better!
Do I need to re-proof the canopy like one would with a tent?

Probably.
Whenever I cleaned our canvas with soapy water etc. I reproofed it.
If your canvas is newish you are probably OK , there might be enough silicone in the material for it still to be waterproof.

I used Fabsil Gold last year some time during the warmer months . Despite having been cleaned with some detergent the canvas remains adequately waterproof.

Why, if the standard Fab is keeping your canopy like new? Why change?

The Fabsil Gold compared to the standard has given my hood more body and stiffened the fabric somewhat. It has really been absorbed right into the fabric which
has returned the hood to its orginal canvas feel. Worth the extra outlay in my view.

OK seems well recommended so I've ordered a 1l tin of Gold from Fleabay for £13.29 inc postage will report back in a couple of weeks when done
