Would you walk up to someone's house and stand there peering in through the front window?
Evidently you live in a nice neighbourhood...

We have those darkened windows which make it difficult to see in from the outside but easy to see out from the inside.
We do get a lot of people, hands cupped around their face, pressing against the glass and peering in. They get quiet a shock when they actually see someone aboard or mooning back!
Come on... Would you walk up to someone's house and stand there peering in through the front window?
What's the Spanish for "WARNING: 240-volt bird-scarer in use on guardrails"?
Last year my marina decided to put in a seagull scarer that made a racket and didn't scare any seagulls, they frequently forgot to turn it off at night and that was a nightmare.
Said bird scarer I've been told makes birds sh$t 'emselves before they fly off to the next boat - true or not ?
I can cope with most things but the one thing I absolutely detest is those selfish people who use electric combination microwave/cookers just because they have free electricity.
They don't give a damn how many times they trip the shorepower and interrupt my wifi film downloads.
Some time ago, I worked and lived in a big marina in the Netherlands.
The now long retired old harbour master lived in a small cottage on the grounds. Had a contract he could stay there for as long as he lived. ( Lived to be far over 90 )
When he was still in charge he warned new berth holders not to leave halyards flapping. Otherwise he would personally take measures. He really did, after some warnings he came over with a pruner, cut the halyard and pulled it out of the mast.
Although a big percentage of our clients ware lawyers, no one ever made a complain about his hard ( Expensive ) way of dealing with things. He still had veto right and could throw everyone out.
He outlived many marina managers and harbour master’s, the story of “Old Piet “ lived on and we had a very quiet marina.
So it is Nostro sucking up all the Lagos bandwidth all the way from la Linea![]()
I am not sure if you are allowed to be annoyed by anyone anymore, and it is a cardinal sin to make comment on a public forum where sensitive souls may read it inadvertently and get all upset about your being annoyed. Sorry but any thread where anyone gets annoyed should be removed forthwith.![]()
+1
And all those people with frapping halliards, whining wind gennys, protruding pullpits as well as those who can not moor their boats and leave their electric lines in the water have every right to do so. You have no right to complain or tell them what to do. They are citizens as well and they have complete freedom to live their lives as they please.
Just make sure that you are quiet and the night is dark, when you go and cut their lines and unplug their electrics.![]()
