Disposal of two stroke fuel

Hi have a galleon of this fuel over from last season 50-1 mixture, would this be safe to put in a car that has over half a tank of fuel already in it?

Our marina has an old oil disposal tank that you can dispose petrol in as well as any kind of oil. It is taken away by an oil recycling company for processing.

Is there a notice up saying petrol is acceptable? I thought tipping petrol into the oil disposal tank was rather frowned on.

Yes... I'm a bit anal about clean fuel, so I usually dispose of it and the previous seasons fuel can at the same time...

Seriously? You dump the fuel can at that start of each season? Crikey ..... I'm still using the same plastic 5L can that I bought 30 years ago! The rubber seal has gone and the cap has split so it has been downgraded to lawnmower duties but its got another 30 years use in it yet!

Tip it into the mother ship's tank. I doubt very much if a few liters of petrol would make much difference when diluted by 150 liters of diesel

In the 'good old days' before summer and winter diesel fuels were marketed we used to put about half a gallon of petrol into a full tank of diesel, 13 - 14 gallons, to prevent waxing. But this was in an old engine that had done 100,000 miles. I know several truck operators who did the same in cold winters. I don't think I would do the same in my nice new diesel car.

what is likely to happen if you added it, a bit at a time (say 1 lt/full tank), to a diesel car?

People make far too much fuss about fuel quality. In many countries the quality of new fuel is worse that what you'd get if you tipped your gallon of old 2 stroke into your car with a half tank of petrol.
It is not good for a diesel engine, but no problem for a petrol.

I think that petrol alone would do no harm. Lots of 4x4 forums recommend adding 2-stroke oil to the fuel to benefit the engine. Chances are that no harm would come of it. It's only my opinion though. I would tip it in the marina waste hydrocarbons tank if I did not have a use for it. Having used fuel in my strimmer that was more than seven years old I would just use it.

No way
I put 4 liters 2 stroke fuel into my Cadillac full tank and it fouled 2 pollution sensors costing me $200 bucks to replace
