Re: Diesel won\'t start

When you say "won't start", do you mean the starter motor won't turn, or it turns, but the engine fails to fire up?

Re: Diesel won\'t start

sounds like a dodgey terminal on the battery or engine, or dead cell in the battery. easy check... on cranking, see if one of the cells gasses (bubbles) abnormally, (like the others arn't)

also check for voltage drop... disconnect battery (negative only), place a bulb between the battery terminal and the disconnected lead, if it lights or glows you have a load, check all battery loads are off, this'll stop it discharging...

but i still reckon on a duff battery.

hope it helps, steve.
