I have one on the boat and one in my new build house , this one smells on a little burning has anyone come across this .

We have two, neither smells.
One at home is used in spare room for drying clothes, does a fine job and more importantly does not shrink my socks like the clothes dryer!

Ours often emits such a smell, which has been a slight concern for me so good to read that it is normal ?

Personally, I’ve never noted any smells from our DD8L.
Nor have I .
In fact the boat always feels /smells very fresh when entering the boat after the dehumidifier has been running. I have the ioniser setting on , which may help.
But the Meaco instruction manual does say some odour is possible.

I have found that burning smell and electrical products means a faulty product if the smell exists for more than a few minutes when new. Burning dust on something not used for a long time is normally a different smell and again doesn't last long.
