Decathlon Tribord 500 sailing jacket, user report.

In the market for a jacket so popped down to Decathalon Surrey quays to check these out, turns out there's more choice then I thought! All look good, definitely try them in store the few I tried all varied a little in size, for the same model sometimes medium was ok other times the large fitted better.

This is the one I think you guys are talking about Offshora Tribord 500 Sailing Jacket, it's got a long tail with a tough pad at the back presumably for sitting/leaning on. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/offshoroa-mens-sailing-jacket-dark-blue-id_8319503.html

There's only the Tribord 500 Sailing Anorak, which is shorter than the jacket stopping at the waist, looks easier to move in. Same waterproof and ruggedness as the jacket. I think it's aimed towards racers. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/race-500-mens-anorak-grey-id_8319500.html

Lastly theres the Tribord 500 Parka which has a tall collar and fixed bright yellow hood, which seems more visible than the slightly muted red hoods of the others. This much warmer than the other two, more padding. Down side is neoprene cuffs not as good, hood doesn't fold away and no water channel in the zip. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/500-m-parka-grey-black-id_8395800.html

I'd lean towards the anorak as it gives more movability, though interested to see if anyone has any practical experience with it?

Bought a Decathlon jacket 5 or so years ago , still giving good service but now decidedly grubby faded pink colour. Am very cold little soldier but jacket has kept me warm over the years on the flybridge of boat. Remains coat of choice for winter .

its a shell jacket with no insulation apart from the snuggly collar and pockets but is totally wind proof so you will need to layer up which is something to remember when choosing your size.

Cheers guys, might just pop into the Portsmouth store on Tuesday and have a gander.

Anyone tried the Tribord Ocean 900?
I bought the 900 suit about six months ago. At first I thought the jacket was a bit overkill, especially the collar, but since the Scottish weather turned really bad I've been glad of it. Fleece pockets are a bit too high and could do with being deeper. The padded trousers are great but if you have been hitting the pies you might have problems. Sizing a bit hit and miss so try on. In all its good quality but a bit heavy for summer use, my wife has the 500 which is more suitable for this.
