Debilitating injury while single handing.

I could not see due to migraine ( I have been a life long sufferer & it affects my sight badly)

I hadn't even thought of migraine. Only suffered about three this century, but each time it's been utterly disabling. Loss of feeling in one arm, loss of vision (normally perfect), total disorientation and inability to form words...

...if that happened at sea I'd have to give myself up as lost. Unfortunately I've never been told what the cause is, at least for me, which makes it impossible to predict. On the other hand, it's years between each incidence, so I don't intend to limit my activities "in case".

Well the good news is that most of the single handers seem to have survived, albeit with some lasting after effects.

Surely this proves my life long claim that single handed sailors should be heavily fined for having all that fun on their own when there is an oversupply of boaties willing to accompany the.

Good luck and fair winds. :)
