Hi,
I'm trying to choose a 12 to 24v dc-dc battery charger. I would like to go with the victron smart isolated version 12-24v but the biggest available is only 15 amps max output but I would prefer something like 25 amps. I'm looking at other brands like sterling and renogy but they don't appear to have the isolated versions.
The charger would be charging a 24v bank for the thruster from the alternator/starter battery. The current setup is 12v and the batteries are separate from the rest of the system. If I were to choose the non isolated version, I would need to have a common earth between the thruster and starter battery? Can anyone see any issues with doing that?

If all else fails you could use two 15amp units in parallel.

Unless the manufacturer has an option for that, I would think the output electronics wouldn't cope with two in parallel.
Straight from the horses mouth, or at least the Victron literature;)
The Orion-Tr Smart charger can be used in 12V, 24V or 48V systems and is suitable for both lead acid and lithium batteries. Models are available up to 400W and unlimited multiple units can be connected in parallel to increase output power.
