Sorry to ask this as I'm sure it has been answered before but couldn't find with a search. Where's the best place to moor up? Will need shorepower for a 2.25m draft..

Thanks!

depends how deep your pockets are ! Dart marina if your feeling flush !

however kingswear probably best just on the right as you enter the harbour but you will be rafted up. (but not dart week as all the racer's get free mooring here) :D failing that just on the inside berth from where the tripper boats come in on the dart side, and be on view of all the punters :D

do you really need power ??? i always go on one of the harbour commission pontoons... no power or water but at £15 a night (40 foot yacht) it's half the price. water's available from any of the permanent harbour commission pontoons.

If Dart Marina is the one further up on the west side with the posh hotel, avoid like the plague. We went in there in December on a school boat, arrived late at night - not only did they charge us the full high season whack (more than £50 a night for a 36 footer), they came charging down the pontoon first thing in the morning to demand instand payment & a complete crew list. It's true they have baths in the shower block, but it's not worth it for the price & the attitude.

Agreed it is overpriced.
Baths yes, but no sinks/mirrors/loo int the same cubicle so you have to get dressed to take your make up off in the unisex sink bit, defeating much of the point of a bathroom. My wife tells me this of course, I don't bother taking my make up off.

The berths are very tight too, it was windy when I went and there is a wind eddy that bounces off the houses, add the tide and I had a devil of a job to get into the berth. Darthaven (kingswear) has the tide but huge distances between the pontoons.

Darthaven every time for me if my wife's with me (she likes electric) or mid river if she's not.

The Town Pontoon outside is convenient for shops etc, but only available overnight when the tripper boats stop operating. Its the cheapest option for alongside berthing
