Cutting teak panel - suggestions needed.

There's a collar holding the shaft which is difficult to get at. I tried loosening the screws from the underneath today, but couldn't get them to budge. A job for the boatyard!

If ashore..maybe you could lift the rudder to improve access to the collar?

Dome nut - now that's an idea ...

Put on nut and keep on turning. Thanks for the suggestion!

PVB is a good guy and is ahead of the game here! I was going to suggest locking two plain nuts against one another, which you can still do if a suitable dome nut is hard to source! Others also seem to think a fresh look at the situation may obviate the need for wood/fiberglass surgery?If it was a production boat are there any other similar boats around to compare?

I'll go look for a domed nut tomorrow. Shouldn't be impossible to find. Will report back!
